Dr Melissa Lindeman – Veterinarian
I grew up in Port Macquarie and was educated in Sydney. I have had a varied career as a vet working in both small and mixed animal practice in country NSW and the UK before moving to Perth in 2002. In Perth I worked predominantly in animal welfare at the University of Western Australia and also as an Animal Behaviourist and Teacher of vet students at Murdoch Uni and vet nurses at South Metro TAFE. It is great to be back on the Mid North Coast with my family and I am enjoying becoming part of the community in Wauchope and surrounds.
Dr Stephanie Lindeman – Veterinarian
I graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992 and went straight to work on the Central Coast of NSW. I gained valuable experience in treating companion animals before setting off overseas for a year. I travelled through Africa, loving the amazing wildlife, and then enjoyed the culture of Europe. On my return, I followed my heart (my now husband) to Port Macquarie and spent time helping some local clinics as a locum veterinarian. In 1998 I started a family, and in 1999 my own vet clinic at Bonny Hills. We are now bursting at the seams at Bonnies and while searching for a suitable location to move to, Timbertown Vet Hospital became available. Fantastic timing, allowing us to provide a better service to our existing clients while also servicing the clients and pets of the Wauchope district. It was also an opportunity to take over the Timbertown Vet Hospital alongside my sister in law, Melissa Lindeman, so both clinics are proudly independent, family owned and run.
I have achieved a huge amount of enjoyment and satisfaction working as a vet since 1993. There have been great challenges but also great rewards. I am always looking for ways to provide a better service to you and your pets, into the future.
Dr Jess Beattie – Veterinarian
Having grown up on the Mid North Coast it was inevitable that I would return to the area after completing my studies. I obtained my veterinary degree from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga in mid 2020 and made the move back home.
I initially started out at a larger practice in Port Macquarie, but soon found that I was more suited to the pace and lifestyle of a smaller town and clinic. I started with Timbertown Vet Hospital in early 2021 and haven’t looked back since. I have enjoyed the variety and challenges of small animal practice. I love taking the time to get to know my patients and their family so that I can provide personalised care. I find it extremely rewarding to be there for my patients for everything from routine health checks, minor illnesses and injuries, right through to end-of-life care. I always endeavour to provide the best advice and support for my clients so that we can achieve the best outcomes for my patients.
My husband and I have set down roots in Wauchope as we purchased a family home in 2022 and our first child arrived in early 2023. I look forward to continuing my service at Timbertown Vet Hospital during this next chapter of my life.
Dr Karen Hanlon – Veterinarian
I grew up in Zimbabwe and graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2002. During my years as a student I was lucky to see occasional sick wildlife, including an elephant with rabies but most of my experience was with regular dogs, cats and farm animals!
After a short stint of working in Zimbabwe I moved to Sydney with my Australian husband. The first addition to our family was “Sabi” our beloved Golden Retriever, who is now getting on in years but still very puppyish in many ways. We initially lived in Sydney and I worked as a small animal veterinarian full-time until we had our beautiful daughter and some time later her cheeky and very cute little brother. In 2013, seeking a quieter, country life, we made the move to the beautiful Mid North Coast where we have continued to add to our family with some chickens and a black rabbit, imaginatively named “Peter Rabbit” by our son.
I have worked at Bonny Hills Veterinary Clinic part-time since the middle of 2014. I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery and especially enjoy ongoing care of my patients and working with their owners towards the best possible outcome for their pet.
Dr Tammy Mulholland – Veterinarian
Growing up on a sheep and cattle farm in Central West NSW my appreciation and love of all species of animals began early! Graduating from Murdoch Uni in 2006 I started my career as a small animal veterinarian on the sunny northern beaches of Perth, I also spent time working in the slightly cooler location of Myrtleford in the Victorian Alps. I’ve had a quite a varied career, from working as a small animal vet in private practice, a government vet for the DPI, to lecturing Animal Science in Scotland. After spending some time living in Europe I moved back to Australia in 2017 with my husband, 6 year old son and his 1 year old twin brothers!
We feel so lucky to be living in beautiful Bonny Hills, and I’m looking forward to meeting more of the lovely locals, and working towards ensuring their gorgeous furry family members remain healthy!
Dr Vivien Ronan – Veterinarian
Having graduated from The University of Sydney in 2008, I moved to Gloucester for 3 years working in mixed practice after which I worked in various clinics locuming. I have worked for the RSPCA, Vets Beyond Borders, the Tsunami Animal People Allliance, locally and abroad. I moved to Port Macquarie in 2015 and have been working and starting a family here. We love living in this area with beautiful beaches and weather!
We have 2 dogs, Zara and George and our beautiful cat Austin! I love surgery and medicine and being able to help pets live happy healthy lives. I feel very lucky to be able to work with such a great team here at Bonny Hills Vets and look forward to continuing this important work here.
Jemma – Nurse
After studying a Bachelor Degree in Wildlife Conservation, I accepted an internship at a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Canada, and it was there that I decided to help animals in a slightly different way. I am now studying Veterinary Technology at CSU and I have a keen interest in microbiology and emergency and trauma care. I moved to the area in 2022, joined the community and team at Timbertown Vet Hospital, and already feel right at home.
Grace – Nurse
After seven years of studying and working in the hospitality industry in Sydney, I finally decided to chase my childhood dream of working with animals.
A coastal change to be closer to family meant I could study my Certificate II and Certificate III at Wauchope TAFE. Whilst studying I worked in a local bakery and also gained valuable experience working part time at a local Veterinary Clinic as a trainee Vet Nurse.
I currently own a 12month old Gordon Setter called Rory and an Indian Ringneck Bird called Barry.
I have been warmly welcomed and am now looking forward to progressing on my chosen path and look forward to the experience and knowledge I will gain while working as part of the Timbertown Veterinary Hospital team.
Lara – Veterinary Nurse
Before moving to Port Macquarie, I lived on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, where I had worked for 7+ years in hospitality, completed a bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering in 2020, began my Cert III in Animal Studies while working at a vet clinic in 2021, and achieved my black belt in Japanese Jujitsu in April 2023.
When I moved to the Mid North Coast in September of 2023, Bonny Hills Vet took me on as a work placement student nurse so I could continue my studies. I have completed my Cert IV and am now a fully qualified vet nurse working at both Bonny Hills and Timbertown, where I am excited to gain valuable experience.
I spend my spare time going to the gym, teaching jujitsu, and writing and recording my own songs. I live on a farm with lots of animals, including cows, chickens, ducks, goats, horses, and my two cats, Juniper and Geralt, who love to cuddle!
Cheranne – Veterinary Nurse
I joined the team at the Bonny Hills Vet Clinic in 2009 and have completed the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, as well as completing a Diploma in Management. I have previously worked in an animal park working closing with Koalas for a number of years before moving up to the Camden Haven with my Husband and three sons in December 2006. I have three loved cats, one female we got from the RSPCA called “Tashi” and “Mooshie” a male was brought into the clinic as a stray kitten (only about 8 weeks old), and a male ginger cat of course called “Ginge” who appeared from the bush behind our house and after a bit of time came closer and closer to now living with us. I love the Nursing and Medical side of the job, along with the time I get to spend with the animals. I also enjoy the contact I have with the owners and seeing the love they have for their pets.
Elizabeth – Veterinary Nurse
I grew up on a property near Toowoomba Qld, where we had plenty of animals and wildlife including dogs, chickens and cattle. It was there where I developed my love for animals and knew that I wanted to care for them. We moved to Port Macquarie in 2008 where I finished school and decided I wanted to start my training to become a vet nurse. I have completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing whilst doing work placement at Bonny Hills Vet, and once finished, I have joined both practices as a fully qualified nurse. I have been lucky to have joined the beautiful team at Bonny Hills Vets where they were so supportive as I trained and completed my Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. I have two fur babies of my own; Lenny a cheeky Kelpie and Reggie a lazy Greyhound and I love them both so much!
Bec – Receptionist
I recently started working at TVH at the end of 2021 taking on a reception role. I have 16 years nursing experience and during this period, took some time off to raise my young family.
I enjoy building good relationships with clients and giving their furry family members lots of cuddles.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and furry family members.
I have recently started fostering Greyhounds through the GAP fostering program.
